New AMC building to get modern furniture

AHMEDABAD: Making work a literally cushy affair for Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation officials, the civic body will be spending Rs 5 crore for modular furniture in the under-construction new municipal corporation building at Sardar Patel Bhavan in Danapith.

The proposal was cleared by the standing committee of AMC on Wednesday.

According to AMC officials, the furniture will be different from traditional wooden or plastic ones as it will take into consideration ergonomics as well.

The contract has been awarded to two firms for providing ultra modern chairs, tables and other furniture items for the six-storeyed building.
