The proposal on furniture worth Rs 10 lakh, costlier than interiors of any minister of the state, figures in the list of 277 accomplished tasks presented before the GU syndicate. This was confirmed by syndicate member Manish Doshi. Trivedi seems to have taken a cue from his predecessor former vice-chancellor Naresh Ved. In a similar manner, Ved had also indulged in such splurging by approving Rs 5.50 lakh for interiors of his bungalow.
Apart this, hike in the fees of various exams from Rs 50 to Rs 100 is also slated for discussion in the syndicate members' meeting scheduled on Sunday. Also scheduled is discussion on the hike in the fee of self-finance colleges of BBA, BCA and commerce. The issue was included in the syndicate agenda, following allegations of self-finance colleges minting money through fee hike.
After its election, the syndicate was meeting for the first time. The last syndicate meeting was held on January 18 this year.
