A LIBRARY of books and material samples and design techniques for the use of Furniture, home decor and accessories manufacturers will be put up in Metro Manila, a foreign business group said.
The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) said in a statement over the weekend that it plans to put a facility similar to the materials library it recently inaugurated in Cebu City.
“It’s a work in progress, especially with new materials being discovered every day. The library will only serve its purpose if the small and medium enterprises will ‘play’ with the raw materials available,” ECCP Executive Vice-President Henry J. Schumacher said in the statement.
Such a facility is aimed at making exporters’ goods more attractive to buyers, the group said. It was not immediately known when construction for the Manila library will begin.
Earlier this month, the chamber, along with the Export Development Council, Cebu Furniture Industry Foundation and Department of Science and Technology unveiled such a library in Cebu City. The library offers design books, trends databases and information of the chemical make-up of various raw materials.
